Less Noise, More Life
The WWF Arctic team approached us to bring to life their “Less Noise, More Life” campaign. They tasked us with visualizing the impact of underwater noise pollution on animal life to raise awareness and encourage action.
To meet these goals, we developed a story around a mother Bowhead whale and her calf. The narrative is molded around their relationship and eventual separation, as we go on a journey to learn about the ocean’s past, present, and threatened future. Crafting a script that had the right pacing, language, and emotive feeling was vital for evoking true human emotions from the viewer. We selected Indigenous actress and activist, Tantoo Cardinal, to narrate this story and challenge change. The question is, will the only sounds in the ocean soon be our own?
