The term “line test” is the traditional process of reviewing stacks of hand-drawn frames by taking individual photographs, ensuring that the final animation moves perfectly.

Although we rarely line test by hand nowadays - technology has made the process much more efficient - we’ll always be anchored in the roots of meticulous craftsmanship. Our name, Linetest, originates from this term as it reflects our core values. We believe that commitment to iteration creates amazing work that stands the test of time.

Led by Creative Director Hao Chen on every project, we carefully assemble a collective of talent worldwide to fit each unique project. With complementary and diverse skill sets, our goal is to elevate every brief from concept to delivery.

Vancouver, Canada has been Linetest’s home base since we started 13 years ago. Our artistic inspiration is rooted in the majestic landscape of the Pacific Northwest and the diverse people of this city. Our eclectic style reflects this vibrant merging of nature and culture.
