Pelly
More than a walking, talking uranium pellet, Pelly is the friendlier face of nuclear energy for a new generation on social media. Forsman & Bodenfors trusted us to visually bring their character Pelly to life and create the entire Pelly-verse. It’s Pelly’s world and we are all just living in it! We delivered 6 different Pelly animations and created over 12 stills for use on websites and social platforms.
We wanted to use character acting to make Pelly and their friends feel relatable and almost “meme-like” - while the humour, camera imperfections, and snappy cuts make these stories resonate with whoever is watching along.
The colour palettes were inspired by popular aesthetic trends on TikTok, namely softcore and cottagecore. Our intention was to keep the overall colours more mature and grounded. Pelly’s muted blue tone is a nod to the physical metallic structure of a uranium pellet, while the slight note of purple provides warmth and feels less corporate. Desaturating the colours also kept Pelly from being too abrasively optimistic and ultimately just more relatable to the Gen-Z demographic.
